FDNY: Building Catches Fire in Midwood

More than 100 FDNY responders extinguished the raging fire.

The FDNY fought flames at a home in Midwood on Thursday afternoon. Fire officials say the fire was reported at around 2:15 p.m. at 1424 E Second St. between Avenue N and Avenue M. The 2 and ½ story building required over 100 responders to put out. Nearby residents tell News 12 that the smell of smoke was evident around the neighborhood and say that the home has been vacant.
