Elderly Passenger Attacked Unprovoked on Brooklyn's F Train

The victim suffered cheek swelling and a laceration but he refused medical attention.

Transit police in Brooklyn are searching for the brute who ruthlessly attacked a senior at random on an F train earlier this month, authorities said. According to police, the victim, a 73-year-old man, was riding a Coney Island-bound F train approaching the York Street stop in Dumbo at around 9:45 am on Feb. 13 when the unprovoked attack occurred. Without saying a word, law enforcement sources said, an unknown rider approached and then punched the septuagenarian straphanger in the right side of his face, smashing his glasses.
