Brooklyn Resident Charged With Murdering Neighbor And Attacking Pit Bull

A Brooklyn man has been accused of killing his 37-year-old neighbor and wounding a pit bull in a crazed stabbing, police and sources said Sunday. Anthony Sabato, 37, was arrested and charged with murder, robbery and aggravated cruelty to animals in the bloody slaying of Thomas Machalchick. Police were called to the building on Sands Street near Jay Street in downtown Brooklyn just after 8am Friday, and found the victim on the 28th floor with a stab wound to his torso and a pit bull suffering from multiple knife wounds.
