Lithium-Ion Battery Causes Fire in Midwood

There have been more than 100 lithium-ion battery fire investigations so far this year, according to the FDNY.

A fire in Midwood on Thursday was caused by a lithium-ion battery, according to Spectrum News New York 1. Construction crews were busy boarding up the windows of Prompt Cleaners on Avenue M in Midwood, as fire officials said the business, and two apartments on the second floor sustained severe damage. According to the FDNY, there have been 107 lithium-ion battery fire investigations so far this year, not including the most recent one in Midwood.
