Crown Heights Church Welcomes NYPD in Special Service

In a culture that has become more and more vocal about their feelings toward law enforcement, there are still a plethora of citizens who recognize and respect police officers.  According to a recent report, a well respected church in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn took time to open their doors to the New York Police Department in a special prayer service.

"We need to pray for them because they put their lives on the line for us and our savior, who is Christ, would do the same thing.  Pray for those who are out there serving our neighborhoods while we are sleeping." Reverend Edward Jenkins told reporters.

For the second year in a row, Ebenezer Wesleyan Methodist Church held their special service on Sunday, inviting some of New York's finest to listen to an inspiring service that aims to provide positive encouragement.  Apart from the special prayer service, the officers also enjoyed a performance from the church's musicians and choir as they performed uplifting songs of hope and honor.  The church was thrilled to host officers from Brooklyn North and Brooklyn South precincts, as they hope to make this an  annual event that the NYPD is excited to attend.
