City to Review 'Isolated Incident' of Alleged Assault of Pro-Palestine Protesters in Brooklyn

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams said he would investigate the NYPD's conduct in handling the protest.

The NYPD’s response during a pro-Palestine protest in Bay Ridge over the weekend continues to draw scrutiny from public officials concerned that police went too far as videos show officers roughly arresting demonstrators. Mayor Eric Adams, while saying that the officers responding to the May 18 Nakba Day protest had done “a commendable job under very difficult circumstances,” said on Monday morning that his administration would review an “isolated incident” in which officers were filmed punching and pinning demonstrators on the pavement.
