Court Indicts MTA Worker Accused of Operating Brothel in Greenpoint Residence

The authorities launched an investigation shortly after receiving a tip-off last month.

A 46-year-old man has been indicted for allegedly running a brothel out of his Brooklyn apartment, according to District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. David Blakis, an employee of the MTA, was arraigned on Friday in Brooklyn Supreme Court, where he was officially charged with multiple counts of promoting and permitting prostitution, the DA said.  “The alleged illegal brothel that the defendant was operating in a residential building caused numerous disruptions for tenants concerned about their well-being,” Gonzalez said. “I am committed to responding to complaints from neighbors concerned about maintaining their quality of life and safety.” Click here to read more on brooklynpaper.com.
