Violent crime in Brooklyn was down slightly during the month of June, according to the most recent police data, but the borough still saw a significant number of shootings and sexual assaults. The overall rate of major felonies — rape, murder, robbery, felony assault, burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny auto — dropped by about 4% during the 28-day period from June 3-28, in comparison to the same span last year.
