More than two dozen youth from across Central Brooklyn gathered on Saturday for the borough's first-ever 24-Hour Hackathon and Youth Tech Challenge presented by NYS Senator Jesse Hamilton and Blue 1647 hosted at the Nigerian American Muslim Integrated Community Center in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.
The students, aged 12-17, were challenged to design and create an app in 24 hours under the instruction of Blue 1647 trainers. Student presentations took place on Sunday morning. It was moving to see these Brooklyn youth come together in just 24 hours.
Check out the photos of this momentous and ground-breaking event. Let's continue to encourage youth across Central Brooklyn to pursue an interest and possible career in the programming, coding and digital technology, where diversity of experience can only further enhance the future of tech!
