New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito opposes a bill that would require businesses with 10 or more employees to provide paid vacation time, Crain's Insider reports: https://goo.gl/MqM5ut.

Mark-Viverito, who supported the paid sick leave law, doesn't agree with a paid vacation bill. Right now, she is focused on the rollout of the paid-sick-leave law, which went into effect April 1, said a source close to the Council Speaker.

City Councilmember Jumaane Williams of Brooklyn proposed the bill to provide employees paid time off.

However, Mark-Viverito is uninterested in entertaining the notion, considering that when combined with paid sick leave, the two bills together would require employers provide up to four weeks of paid time off to their workers.
