After loudly announcing his performance on his official Facebook page, Bed-Stuy native Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) has canceled his Tuesday night show at Highline Ballroom.
"Yeah, unfortunately, he wont be performing anymore, I'm sorry," said a Highline told The Reader. "And he didn't give us a reason or a reschedule date. So if you purchased tickets, I'd suggest you go ahead and get your refund."
This is the third time this year he's canceled in New York and offered no reason -- the first time, at Erykah Badu's performance at BAM, and the second time, for Summerstage, both in June.
His cancelation trend can be tracked back to May of this year, at an Indiana show where he canceled at a nightclub for "unforeseen circumstances." His manager emailed the nightclub explaining, "Yasiin will have to cancel his Indianapolis show along with the rest of his U.S. shows for the foreseeable future."
Unfortunately, the unforeseeable future included his subsequent New York dates.
