New York’s only all-classical music station, WQXR (105.9 FM and wqxr.org), is bringing the Classical Kids Fair back to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum on Sunday, March 23, offering families a day filled with live performances, dance workshops, arts and crafts and interactive musical experiences.

The event, which runs from 11:00am to 4:00pm, will feature collaborations with several cultural organizations, including the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers Program, musical duo Musiquita and dancers from the Metropolitan Opera ballet, according to a press release.

We are thrilled to partner with WQXR to bring the Classical Kids Fair to Brooklyn Children’s Museum,” said Atiba T. Edwards, president and chief executive officer of BCM. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for children and families to explore the world of classical music through hands-on experiences, live performances, and interactive workshops. By making music accessible and engaging, we hope to inspire a lifelong love of the arts in young learners.”

The museum will also collaborate with “Terrestrials,” a WNYC/Radiolab podcast for children that explores nature’s mysteries. The program will offer a session on how bees communicate through sound, featuring musical activities, a dance lesson and hands-on learning experiences.

Other highlights include composition workshops with teaching artists from the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers Program, dance lessons with Met Opera ballet members and a sing-along led by Brooklyn Conservatory teaching artists.
