The weekend soon come and here's some event and party recommendations to set it off like Jada Pinkett! The weather projects to be decent, Lebron James might get swept and people will still be obsessing over Donald Trump and a possible impeachment. Since the world waits for no man, and especially when an rsvp is required, always click and reserve your place in parties where that's needed for entry.
Spring is fleeting, soon it will be in the 90's nearly everyday and you will want to kill people for simply breathing. So get out there and enjoy all that Brooklyn has too offer this weekend.
Unit J Block Party, Lantern Hall, 52 Harrison Place, Friday, 4:00pm, $5 (East Williamsburg)
Two venues, one giant party! Unit J pulled together some of the best bands we've seen this year to rock the stages at Lantern Hall and Pine Box Rock Shop as part of the Northside Festival 2017. Click here for the Eventbrite page, to check out the bands at both places and buy tickets.
Brooklyn Old Time Square Dance, The People's Garden, Greene Avenue & Broadway, Friday, 7:30pm-11:30pm, $5-$15 (Bushwick/BedStuy)
Who says you can't go square dancing in Brooklyn? This is your chance to engage in music and dancing from another part of the country, right here in your favorite borough. Even if you actually can't square dance, I'm sure you'll fall right in line since it doesn't seem super complicated. Give it a shot and click here for more information from their FB Event page.
Brooklyn Borough Eric Adams Presents Central Brooklyn Arts & Culture Weekend, Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum, Sat-Sun, free (Crown Heights)
From the FB event page:
"I invite you on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 for an arts, culture, and food festival at the second annual Central Brooklyn Arts & Culture Weekend. This block party-style event celebrates the extraordinary creativity and spirit of Brooklynites whose diverse work excites our imagination and brings us closer together as One Brooklyn. We are excited to engage our cultural institutions — such as the Brooklyn Aquarium, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Children's Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Jewish Children's Museum, and Prospect Park Zoo — in this true community effort."
This is a two day affair that's also honoring Fabulous and Jean Michel Basquiat, two of Brooklyn's favorite sons, but you should click here to get all the information...because it's a lot of information for this outdoor, all-ages, super fun event.
2 Year Anniversary Of Drink Lounge, 768 Franklin Avenue, Saturday, 7:00pm, free (Crown Heights)
One of my favorite cocktails bar completes two laps around the calendar and you should go help them celebrate. They turn out some great drinks, the backyard will be poppin' and they have several DJs on deck to keep the party rocking. It's a stylish boite on the busy Franklin Avenue strip and if you haven't been yet, this is the perfect first time! Click here for more information.
So there's some social direction to make your weekend fun for you and your friends, this weekend in Brooklyn.
