Submit Your Masterpiece to The Short Shorts Film Festival

The Short Shorts Film Festival, a boutique, artist-focused event based out of Bushwick, is looking for submissions to its 2024 festival. 

The festival is currently accepting submissions in all mediums of moving images - digital, animation, film, experimental or music video - as long as the piece is under 20 minutes long and submitted as a digital file, according to a press release. 

A panel of judges decide award winners for three categories: Shorts (under 20 minutes), Short Shorts (under three minues), and Short Shorts About Shorts (under three minutes and featuring a pair of shorts), as well as a “People’s Choice” award decided by the audience.

"This year, the festival is all about expanding our boundaries, both in the films we exhibit and in what our festival can accomplish," said Hannah Mayo, the festival organizer. "This is a DIY operation through-and-through and we put this together as a way to celebrate all the great artwork being created in this city that might not find an outlet anywhere else. That mindset informs every decision we make, we want this to be a great experience for local artists and film lovers alike." 

Selected pieces will be shown on August 10 at the Kaleidoscope Studios in Ridgewood, Queens.
