The gifted students of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation Summer Session, a free program that provides underserved youth with exposure to the arts and opportunities to practice them, return to BBP for the second year in a row, according to the events' website.
As they did last summer, the students, known as Rush Kids and Teens, will spend a week designing and painting site-specific murals for the public entryway and Community Room in 99 Plymouth, located in BBP's Main Street section.
"This year's installation takes inspiration from the artwork of Xenobia Bailey as well as from the Park's natural and manmade environments. Bailey, a New York-based and long-standing Rush Teaching Artist, is known for her colorful abstract works, many of which can be seen in the city's public spaces," sources say.
So come 99 Plymouth and see the brilliant, site-specific murals created by the talented students of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation's Summer Session, titled: Rush Will Take You to Funkytown! The spectacular murals are sure to leave you breathless and inspired.
The event takes place from now until September 7, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and is FREE! So, don't be shy!
