On Saturday, January 17, the Restoration Dance Theatre is honored to once again celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with its annual dance tribute at the Kumble Theater.
This year's performance entitled, "Destiny Y2K15," will also usher in Black History Month with a special tribute to Carter G. Woodson, the Father of Black History Month, in the year of what would be Woodson's 100th birthday!
Come enjoy works by Restoration Dance Theatre's Artistic Director Karen Thornton and veteran choreographers Ronald K. Brown, Germaul Barnes, Abdel Salaam, Nathan Trice to name a few.
Join the company, as it dances alongside professional guest artists from the ChoreoQuest project in signature works by these esteemed choreographers and as a new generation of young dancers move forward to preserve a rich heritage while honoring Dr. King's birthday!
