Coney Island Brewery is teaming up with Coney Island USA, south Brooklyn’s not-for-profit arts organization and Honk NYC for the secnd annual Coney Island Creature Crawl on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Inspired by Coney Island USA’s Mermaid Parade, which traditionally opens the summer season, the Coney Island Creature Crawl will celebrate autumn. Part parade and part bar crawl, the event seeks to draw support for local amusement district businesses who are entering the “off-season.”
“It’s one last splash, so to speak,” says Adam Rinn, artistic director at Coney Island USA. “As the weather gets cooler, most of the seasonal businesses begin to close. We hope to drive customers to the area’s businesses for one great day of fun.”
October is the perfect time for Coney Island to get creepy and guests can participate in a costumed boardwalk crawl.
“This event takes you to the root of what Coney Island represents to the artistic souls who are drawn to its history and energy. We celebrate creativity and community, and this is one last hoorah on the boardwalk to support seasonal businesses,” Victoria Pitula, general manager of the Coney Island Brewery, said.
Starting at Coney Island Brewery at 1:00pm, the creepiest Coney Island creatures will assemble to crawl around the boardwalk visiting participating bars to celebrate with seaside libations! The crawl will end with a live outdoor street brass band invasion with HONK NYC right outside Coney Island USA (1208 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11224).
