New York City nonprofit City Parks Foundation has announced the roster of Brooklyn music events set to occur throughout July for this year's SummerStage.

Now in its 37th season, Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage is a free outdoor performing arts festival that puts together 80 free and benefit performances throughout the five boroughs of NYC.

Every year, the annual festival brings together an assortment of immensely talented performers, spanning numerous music genres such as salsa, jazz, hip-hop, indie, soul, reggae, and much more.

This July, Brooklynites will be treated to several entertaining shows featuring both renowned artists and up-and-coming stars. Here's what's in store for Brooklyn this month:

July 9: Tuff Gong Takeover Feat. Skip Marley and Friends

On July 9, from 6:00pm-10:00pm, the Coney Island Amphitheater will play host to Jamaican musician, Skip Marley. The grandson of iconic musician Bob Marley, Skip Marley has made a name for himself in the early going of his career, having been nominated for Best Reggae Album at the Grammys for his 2020 EP, "Higher Place." Marley has also collaborated with a number of household names, including Rick Ross, Ari Lennox and H.E.R.

Set to perform alongside Marley are Patrice Roberts, Sarkodie, Bobby Konders and King Cruff.

July 13: Works & Process At Summerstage: Courtney Washington's Masterz At Work Dance Family

On July 13, from 7-9 p.m. at Von King Park, performing arts organization Works & Process will be presenting ballroom’s iconic Courtney Washington and the Masterz at Work Dance Family. The group of young performers fuses together street dance, jazz, ballroom, vogue, and hip-hop to create an electrifying experience for viewers.

The show will be a homecoming for Washington, who spent her formative years performing in Von King Park. Since that time, Washington has founded the Kiki House of Juicy Couture, led the vogue House of Balenciaga, and won the Avis Penda’vis Angel Award at the 2022 Latex Ball.

July 14: Nick Hakim, June McDoom and Evan Wright

On July 14, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Nick Hakim will be performing at Von King Park. Hakim has been releasing music since 2014, and is known for his "soulful croon" and for layering "crunchy analog textures with gentle melodies and smooth harmonies to create swirling soundscapes", according to a release. After making a guest appearance at SummerStage last year, Hakim is set to be a headliner at this year's festival.

Performing with Hakim is June McDoom, a Bronx native and experimental folk singer; as well as Evan Wright, who is renowned for his "country-tinged indie psychedelia" style of music.

July 15: MC MIKE’s Third Annual Young World Festival

On July 15, from 4:00pm-9:00pm, Von King Park will be once again hosting Brooklyn MC MIKE’s annual Young World festival. Now in its third year, the festival offers a fully accessible afternoon of music, visual art, food, clothes, and children’s activities in Bed Stuy.

Performances at the festival include Chicago rapper Noname; Brooklyn's own Jay Critch; North Carolina philosopher-poet MAVI; and many more.

July 16: dead prez, th1rt3en, and Large Professor

On July 16, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, dead prez is set to perform in Von King Park. The hip-hop duo is known for their confrontational style, hard-hitting raps, and skull-rattling beats.

Also performing this evening are rap-rock band th1rt3en, along with a DJ set from Large Professor.

July 16: Golden Oldies On The Boardwalk 2023

On July 16, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, the Coney Island Amphitheater will play host to a stacked lineup of old-school doo-wop and R&B. Headlining the evening is Jersey City doo-wop group The Duprees, a band that is best known for their highest-charting single “You Belong to Me."

Other performances include Los Angeles R&B group The Coasters; Soul vocalist Bobby Wilson (son of legendary singer Jackie Wilson); R&B group The Drifters; and more.
