Comedian Amanda Seales is bringing her new one-woman show, What Would The Ancestors Say?? to The Billie Holiday Theatre for an exclusive preview on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27.

Both shows will include a Meet and Greet event and a special gift for attendees, according to a press release.

Seale's production company, Smart, Funny & Black Productions described the show as “a sharp-witted gut check about where Black America stands today through the lens of its ancestral roots.” The show is designed to “entertain, educate, and empower audiences to step into the light handed down to them by those who fought before them.”

Through a blend of stand-up comedy, poetry, song and character acting, Seales poses provocative questions like "What is Harriet Tubman thinking looking down at the current state of the USA?" and "Are you the type that Harriet Tubman would shoot if she came back?"

This event at The Billie marks one of three preview stops for What Would The Ancestors Say??, which will tour in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., before the live-streamed premiere on Nov. 2.

Seales brings a multifaceted background to the stage, with a Master’s degree in African American Studies from Columbia University and a career spanning comedy, radio, acting and social activism.

Her fans know her for her roles as Tiffany DuBois on HBO’s Insecure, her stand-up special I Be Knowin', as a former co-host on The Real, her podcast Small Doses and her touring game show Smart Funny & Black.

The Saturday show at the theater, located at 1368 Fulton St., begins at 7:00pm, while the Sunday shows starts at 3:00pm.

Tickets for both shows can be purchased at the theater box office during the following times:

Monday – Friday, 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday, 2:00pm – showtime
Sunday, 10:00am – showtime.
