New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart has been named the Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for August.

This is Stewart's third Player of the Month honor this season (and sixth of her career) after earning the award for her high-level play in May and June, respectively.

Throughout the Liberty's 10-game August schedule, Stewart posted averages of 22.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, a league-best 2.3 blocks, and 1.9 steals per game, all while leading the team to a 9-1 record.

The all-star forward had quite the historic month, accumulating several impressive milestones.

Stewart became the first player in league history to record three 40-point games in a single season. She also joined Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi as the only players to eclipse the 40-point mark three-plus times in their careers.

In the Liberty's victory over the Las Vegas Aces in the Commissioner's Cup Championship, Stewart became the first-ever WNBA player to win multiple cups.

Other accolades achieved by Stewart this past month include breaking the Liberty's single-season scoring record, setting the Liberty single-season record for 30-plus point games, as well as breaking the franchise's single-season rebounding record.

Next up, Stewart will look to continue her strong month of play when the Liberty take on the Los Angeles Spark on Sept. 7.
