Black Inventors Museum Makes Public Debut in Brooklyn

Celebrating Black innovators in AI and STEM, the exhibit will feature interactive workshops, presentations and highlight groundbreaking inventions.

The exhibit "Black Inventors in AI: Shaping the Future of Technology" will be at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn between Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28 - March 2.

The internationally renowned Black Inventors Museum, which has toured globally for more than 25 years, will make its first-ever public debut in New York City during Black History Month in Brooklyn.

The museum brings a free AI and STEM exhibit to City Point in Downtown Brooklyn, which will showcase the groundbreaking contributions of Black inventors who have shaped history and continue to drive technological innovation, according to a press release. The exhibit will be up between Feb. 21-23, and Feb. 28 - March 2, from 11:00am to 8:00pm.

“Our mission is to educate and inspire while celebrating the groundbreaking contributions of Black inventors,” said event organizer James Ince. “Hosting this exhibit in Brooklyn for the first time as a public event is an incredible opportunity to reach a wider audience and inspire the next generation of innovators.”

Under the theme Black Inventors in AI: Shaping the Future of Technology, the exhibit will highlight the transformative impact of Black pioneers in artificial intelligence and STEM fields. The exhibit will feature interactive displays, STEM workshops and presentations for families, students and professionals.

What to Expect:

  • Inspiring Displays and Presentations: Visitors can explore the stories and inventions of Black innovators, from historical breakthroughs like the traffic light to modern advancements in AI.

  • Interactive STEM Workshops: Hands-on activities designed to spark creativity and curiosity among students and young learners.

  • VIP Reception: A special celebration bringing together sponsors, community leaders, and guests.

  • Curator Presentations: Leading up to the event, the exhibit curator will offer 30- to 60-minute presentations at local libraries schools, and corporations, providing a sneak peek into the innovations featured in the exhibit.
