Step into the iconic Brooklyn Navy Yard and discover its 220-plus year history of industry and innovation during the annual fall Open House on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Explore more than 35 open studios and factories to meet a diverse array of artists, entrepreneurs, craftspeople and urban manufacturers for free. 

Visitors will have the opportunity to wander through the sprawling 300-plus acre campus, enjoy a variety of food and drink at the newly launched Market @77 food hall, guided tours, and the chance to buy bespoke goods and connect directly with makers to learn more about them.

"The Brooklyn Navy Yard’s annual fall open house is an exciting way to get ‘behind the walls’ and learn more about the companies, entrepreneurs, and innovators who are making unique goods, prototyping technology or providing other services that benefit Brooklynites and visitors from around the world,” said Joyce Duverce, senior vice president of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation. “Attendees can enjoy visiting over 30 open studios and factories, snack on delicious food and beverages at the Market @77 food hall, and directly connect with makers and manufacturers.”

Events are low-key, open format and designed to bring diverse people and communities together to learn about the Yard's past, present and future. With more than 70 historic and modern buildings and three miles of working waterfront, the Yard stands as a national model for adaptive reuse, urban manufacturing and cultural advancement. Studios are open from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and include: 5TEN; Bien Hecho Academy; BNYDC Employment Center; Brooklyn Roasting Company; Greg Chann; Hyesu Lee; Jackie Meier Studio; Jason Krugman Studio; John McDevitt King; Kathryn Robinson-Millen Ceramics; KIC NYC; L.C. Armstrong Art; MARCO BAGA; Millie Benson Projects; Myrna Goldberg Sculpture; Naomi Katz Plotkin; Next Step Lab; Nick Golebiewski Studio; Paul Campbell Studio; Pinkney Herbert; Posterfix Corp; Ron Baron Studio; Rooftop Reds; Sagmeister inc.; Skilset; Tatiana Arocha Studio; Thyra Heder Illustration; Ting Yih; Tunji Dada/Nadia Belalia Studio; Uncool Artist Residency and Work At Hand.

Fun Corporate Magic will have timed tours. These tours are free, but space is limited. Tours are first come, first served. Visitors can sign up for tours once they have checked in for the open house. No advance ticketing will take place. Groups are restricted to one tour per group while supplies last. This is to ensure as many people as possible who want to enjoy a tour can take one.

Some pop-up shopping experiences include MARCO BAGA, Myrna Goldberg Sculpture, Paul Campbell Studio, Skilset, Tatiana Arocha Studio and Thyra Heder Illustration.

Market @77 food hall options include Brooklyn Roasting Company, Hungry House, Sabor, Jalapa Jar, Pizza Yard, Rooftop Reds, Russ & Daughters, Rustik Tavern and Transmitter Brewing.

Throughout the day, Jon Besch will be spinning beats. You can also drop off gently used books during a collection drive with Brooklyn Book Bodega and visit the exhibition that explores the Yard's history, “Brooklyn Navy Yard: Past, Present & Future” at any time.
