WFP Endorses Brooklyn Candidates to Stand up For Working Families

The Working Families Party made its endorsement for city Comptroller, Brooklyn District Attorney, Borough President and several City Council seats.

The Working Families Party on Monday announced its endorsement of numerous candidates across New York City for the 2025 elections. 

With the growing need for leadership to support working families in the wake of former President Donald Trump’s policies, the WFP is rallying behind candidates who are committed to fighting for the needs of everyday New Yorkers and challenging America's most powerful, according to a press release.

The WFP described the candidates as "shining stars in otherwise dark times."

In New York City, the following candidates in city-wide offices and Brooklyn seats have earned the WFP's endorsement:

  • Justin Brannan – New York City Comptroller
  • Eric Gonzalez – Brooklyn District Attorney
  • Antonio Reynoso – Brooklyn Borough President
  • Lincoln Restler – City Council District 33
  • Jennifer Gutiérrez – City Council District 34
  • Crystal Hudson – City Council District 35
  • Chi Ossé – City Council District 36
  • Sandy Nurse – City Council District 37
  • Alexa Avilés – City Council District 38
  • Shahana Hanif – City Council District 39
  • Rita Joseph – City Council District 40
