The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) announced a series of closures to the Belt Parkway.
The closures are taking place due to signal modernization and track replacement work that will be occurring along the B, F, and Q train lines beginning on Friday, February 16, according to a news release.
Amidst the construction, the following closures are scheduled:
Friday, Feb. 16 - From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.:
Eastbound: Closed between (Exit 6) Cropsey Ave and (Exit 7) Ocean Pkwy.
Westbound: Reduced to one lane, between (Exit 7A) Shell Road and Exit (6N) Cropsey Ave.
Saturday, Feb. 17 - From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.:
Eastbound: Reduced to one lane, between (Exit 7A) Shell Road & Exit (6N) Cropsey Ave.
Westbound: Closed between (Exit 6) Cropsey Ave and (Exit 7) Ocean Pkwy.
Sunday, Feb. 18, Monday, Feb. 19 and Tuesday, Feb. 20 - From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Monday, and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Tuesday:
Eastbound: Reduced to one lane, between (Exit 6) Cropsey Ave and (Exit 7) Ocean Pkwy.
Westbound: Reduced to one lane, between (Exit 7a) Shell Road and Exit (6N) Cropsey Ave.
During the construction work, detour routes will be provided for drivers. MTA recommends that motorists seek alternative routes across southern Brooklyn, or consider using public transit, while construction is ongoing.
