The New York Police Department's highest-ranking uniformed officer abruptly resigned late Friday night after a NYPD subordinate made allegations that he demanded sexual favors in exchange for massive amounts of overtime, according to media reports.

Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey stepped down on Friday after the New York Post reported that Lt. Quathisha Epps was routinely preyed upon by Maddrey, who asked for sex in NYPD headquarters.

“He wanted to have anal sex, vaginal sex, oral sex,” Epps told the Post. “He was always asking me to kiss his penis.”

Maddrey, a close friend of Mayor Adams, will be replaced on an interim basis by Chief of Patrol John Chell, the NYPD said.

In addition, the head of the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau was forced out on Saturday, according to Gothamist.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced former Chief of Internal Affairs Miguel Iglesias was relieved of his duty and would be replaced by Edward Thompson, the news site said.

“Above all else, the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau must always be dedicated to preserving integrity and rooting out corruption in all its forms,” Tisch wrote in a statement. “It is an essential function that is crucial to maintaining honor and nobility in the profession and preserving public trust. Chief Thompson is up to the task.”

Thompson will be tasked with fighting the type of bad behavior that Maddrey is accused of, according to the Gothamist. She also ordered roughly 500 police officers who were “improperly transferred” to return to their posts.

Tisch was named NYPD Commissioner on Nov. 20, succeeding Interim Commissioner Thomas Donlon and Edward Caban.
