A Park Slope man who committed numerous burglaries of commercial businesses throughout Brooklyn has been sentenced to multiple years in prison.

59-year-old Charles Wold was sentenced to two-to-four years in jail — a total of six concurrent prison terms — after being found guilty for six counts of third-degree burglary and one count of third-degree attempted burglary back on Nov. 2, of last year.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Evelyn LaPorte made the sentence on Jan. 9, 2023.

The Brooklyn District's Attorney's office initially inquired about a sentence of nine-to-18 years, but Wold had made a guilty plea to reduce the sentence.

According to the investigation, Wold had broken into six separate Brooklyn businesses and attempted to break into another. Six of the incidents occurred back in 2021, while another one happened early last year.

Among the businesses where the incidents occurred include Simply Sweet, Hipster Deli, Park Slope Ale House, Just Salad, Tava Turkish and Mediterranean Restaurant, 390 Social Bar and Restaurant, along with Blue Collar Burger.

District Attorney Eric Gonzalez says that Wold stole thousands of dollars in cash, cash registers, electronics, and other items. The various businesses also incurred physical damage due to Wold's crimes.

“This defendant is a serial burglar who has shown that he will continue to invade other people’s property if he remains at large, necessitating this prison sentence. My Office is committed to protecting the safety and property of everyone living in Brooklyn and will continue to prosecute those who victimize our neighbors," said District Attorney Gonzalez.
