An exciting update for dog owners in Prospect Heights — there’s a new dog park in town.
On Aug. 14, the developer TF Cornerstone announced it has opened a public dog park at its Prospect Heights residential development located at 595 Dean St.
The new public facility is part of the development’s 60,000-square-foot plaza designed by landscape architecture firm MNLA.
“The park is easily accessible from the street and leads visitors to a variety of spaces with facilities for all ages all within a lushly planted and performative landscape that contributes to biodiversity and stormwater management,” said Signe Nielsen, founding principal at MNLA. “We are proud to have been part of this project and commend TFC for their commitment to a quality public realm.”
The new dog park is next to the development’s west tower, near the playground. In addition to the parks, the public green space near the west tower also includes a picnic grove, shaded woodland gardens and a fountain.
Along the east tower, there are wood-cladded steps that will offer seating and a series of water jets will spray from the ground so locals can cool off during the warmer months.
In between the two towers, there is a grassy field surrounded by a variety of colorful, native plantings and benches.
The new dog park is now open and accessible to the public. For more information, click here.
