Medgar Evers College Honors Legacy of Late Congressman John Lewis

The Center for Law and Social Justice will honor the late congressman with a screening of 'John Lewis: Good Trouble' on July 17.

The Center for Law and Social Justice (CLSJ) at Medgar Evers College, at the City University of New York, is honoring the late Congressman John Lewis's legacy and invites community members to join them for the John Lewis National Day of Action Commemorative Event on July 17, 2024.

This event celebrates Lewis's tireless advocacy for civil rights and social justice while raising awareness about critical legislative efforts, such as the fight for the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, Project 2025 and other threats to the civil rights of Black Americans.

The Day of Action will include a reception and film screening of John Lewis: Good Trouble, on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2024 at 6pm. The film screening will be held at Medgar Evers College, EOJ Auditorium, 1638 Bedford Avenue Building, Brooklyn, NY 11225.

​The reception will begin at 6:00pm, followed by the film screening which will begin at 6:45pm.

Immediately following the film, there will be a vigil in honor of John Lewis and all ancestors who fought for Black rights.
