As the back-to-school season kicks into high gear, parents and students in Brooklyn are on the lookout for affordable ways to stock up on essential school supplies.

Pentecostal Church of God Back to School Supply Giveaway
During this event, the Pentecostal Church of God volunteers will hand out backpacks and school supplies suitable for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Various Flatbush-based vendors will also share their goods and services, and kids will get to play games and make art projects. A child must be present to receive the supplies.

SD 19 Fun Day and Back to School Giveaway
Hosted by State Sen. Roxanne Persaud, this event will feature fun games, a balloon artist, a magician and stilt walkers in addition to free books, refreshments and school supplies. Distribution of the free school supplies begins at 3:00pm. A child must be present to receive the supplies.

Patrol Borough Brooklyn North's Back to School Book Bag Giveaway
The New York Police Department will be holding a fun, free event providing bookbags and school essentials to kids and their families while supplies last. The event will also feature food, music, games, free haircuts and eye exams. The first 10 children who require vision aid will receive a pair of glasses free of charge.

Back to School Giveaway: Presented by East Flatbush Community Partnership
The East Flatbush Community Partnership will be providing bookbags, school supplies, resources, raffle prizes and more on Friday, Aug. 25, while supplies last. The event will also feature health screenings, so that attendees have all the up-to-date forms that schools require. The event will also include music, free food, games and prizes.

I Will Graduate Presents: Spread Love Back to School Giveaway
