Brooklyn Org, a platform for community philanthropy and transformational change in Brooklyn, has named Brenda Catalano as its first Chief Development Officer.
In a press release, the organization said the role involves leading its fundraising, events, and donor stewardship initiatives, of which she has more than 20-years experience.
Catalano's former positions include the Director of Development and Major Gifts Officer at a $250 million Management Service Organization and Statewide Director for New York at a national nonprofit.
She holds an associate’s degree from Kingsborough Community College and a Social Work master's from SUNY Albany.
Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, president and CEO of Brooklyn Org, described Catalano as having "a true passion for supporting Brooklyn communities."
“I am thrilled to welcome Brenda Catalano to Brooklyn Org as our inaugural Chief Development Officer. Brenda brings not only deep expertise and a proven record in strategic development but also a true passion for supporting Brooklyn communities," said Rainey.
"Her dedication to building lasting donor relationships and her Brooklyn roots make her uniquely positioned to elevate our fundraising, events, and donor stewardship efforts. I am confident that Brenda’s leadership will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and amplifying the impact of BKO’s work.”
