A new report from doxoINSIGHTS found the average Brooklyn household pays $2,940 a month, or $35,276 a year on the 10 most common household bills.
On average, household bills in Brooklyn are $9,763 per year higher than the U.S. average, according to a news release.
Brooklyn households are spending 44% of their income on household bills, with the household expenses in Brooklyn, on average, being 38% higher than the national average of $2,126, and 12% higher than the state average of $2,627.
With the leading monthly costs being mortgage payments at $3,107, followed by rent payments at $1,807. The COBI is based on nationwide bill payment statistics for the 10 most common household bill categories, including utilities, cable, phone, auto loans, auto insurance, life insurance, health insurance, security, rent and mortgage.
