The event at Brooklyn Children’s Museum offers interactive workshops, music, and art to celebrate Tu BiShvat.

Families across Brooklyn are invited to join the Brooklyn Children’s Museum on Sunday, Feb. 9, for its annual Tu BiShvat celebration, an engaging and educational event honoring the Jewish new year of the trees.

Hosted in collaboration with The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life, the event offers a variety of activities designed to connect children with nature and cultural traditions, according to a press release.

The celebration runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the museum and is open to children of all ages, whether they observe Tu BiShvat or simply wish to learn about the holiday.

“Our Tu BiShvat celebration is a vibrant way for families to connect with the natural world and deepen their appreciation for the role trees play in our lives,” said BCM President and Chief Executive Officer Atiba T. Edwards. “Brooklyn’s trees remind us of the beauty and resilience of nature within our city. Through this event, we’re inspiring children to celebrate, protect, and learn from the environment around them while embracing the richness of cultural traditions.”

Rebecca Guber, founding director of The Neighborhood, emphasized the holiday’s focus on caring about the environment.

“The Neighborhood is excited to share Tu BiShvat with families throughout Brooklyn, being connected to the environment and caring for plants and living beings is an important part of Jewish life."
