BRIC is now accepting applications for its 2025-26 BRIClab residency program for New York City-based creatives in contemporary art, film, TV and video art.

The program supports emerging to mid-career artists by providing resources to advance their creative practice, according to a press release.

Selected residents will receive a $2,500 stipend, mentorship, skills-based learning, professional development and documentation of their work. Additional support, including funding, space, equipment access, and media classes, varies by track.

The 2025-26 cohort will showcase their work through public programs in spring and summer 2026.

The initiative, funded by the Ford Foundation and TD Bank, encourages applications from disabled, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ artists as part of BRIC’s commitment to addressing systemic inequities in creative industries.

Residency Tracks:

  • Contemporary Art: Provides interdisciplinary, community-oriented studio space and professional support for five selected artists. The residency runs from August 2025 to June 2026.

  • Video Art: Supports artists in creating video, film shorts, or longer works-in-progress. Six artists will be selected for the residency, which runs from September 2025 to September 2026.

  • Film + TV: Incubates documentary filmmakers working on short-form, episodic, or feature-length nonfiction films. Three filmmakers will be selected for the residency, which runs from September 2025 to May 2026.

The deadline to apply is March 14, 2025.
