BKLYN ROCKS! Fashion Show Debuts at Abolitionist Place

Brooklyn’s vibrant fashion scene took center stage as Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and City Point hosted the first-ever fashion show at Abolitionist Place.

Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and City Point hosted the first-ever fashion show at Abolitionist Place on Oct.13.

The show, BKLYN ROCKS!, transformed the sidewalks of Abolitionist Place into a dynamic runway showcasing Primark’s fall collections, according to a press release.

This community-driven event marked BK Fashion Week’s debut in Downtown Brooklyn, featuring youth stylists, models and producers from Fashion Camp 360, a program by NYPD Community Affairs and Youth Strategies Development, which mentors Brooklyn youth.

Fashion Camp 360 mentors and empowers fashion-focused youth between the ages of 7 and 18, offering hands-on experiences and guidance across the fashion industry.

"Retail and fashion are vital to Downtown Brooklyn's economy, and we are thrilled to bring BK Fashion Week to Abolitionist Place. Brooklyn is known for its creativity, and we look forward to celebrating the next generation of fashion visionaries at this event," said Regina Myer, president of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership.
