Community-based organization Bay Ridge Cares announced the launch of its Community Micro Grants Program this week.
Aimed at empowering Bay Ridge residents, groups, and organizations, the newly-established initiative provides financial support for impactful projects, offering grants up to $1,500.
The purpose of the program is to foster creativity, community engagement, and positive change across various sectors like education, healthcare, arts, culture, senior services, youth programs, environmental sustainability, and social justice.
"At Bay Ridge Cares, we believe in the power of grassroots initiatives to make a significant impact on the well-being of our community," said Karen Tadross, president of Bay Ridge Cares.
"The Community Micro Grants Program is our way of investing in the incredible ideas and projects that our neighbors are passionate about. We're excited to support initiatives that will contribute to the vibrancy and resilience of Bay Ridge."
From Jan. 15 until March 20, 2024, Bay Ridge community members can apply for the first grant distribution period, with one micro grant being awarded per quarter, according to Bay Ridge Cares.
To apply, interested Brooklynites are instructed to head over to head over to the Bay Ridge Cares website and to request an application through the “Contact Us” page.
