The current forecast calls for 20-30 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts possible and snowfall rates of up to 2-4 inches per hour late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Northern winds of 30-40mph are forecast, with gusts of up to 65mph possible. Temperatures in the lower 20s are expected, with visibilities of one quarter mile or less at times. Winter Storm Juno is going to be a doozy.
"This is a major, potentially historic snowstorm for the Northeast and easily the biggest of the 2014-15 winter season so far," said weather.com meteorologist Chris Dolce. "Expect extreme impacts from eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey through New England, peaking Monday night through Tuesday. Avoid all travel, as it will be extremely dangerous with blizzard or near-blizzard conditions likely.

Snow Removal

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT), in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation (DSNY), today announced that Alternate Side Parking Regulations will be suspended citywide for tomorrow, Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27, to facilitate snow removal. Emergency Snow Laborers
DSNY is calling in emergency snow laborers to help remove snow and ice from bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and step streets throughout the City. Those who have pre-registered with DSNY or DOT should report to the garage or location listed on their ID card on Sunday, January 25 at 8:00 am.
