Old Laundromat on Franklin Avenue to Be Replaced By Residential Building

Although no final decisions have been made, residences are likely to be rentals

On Tuesday, RW Real Estate Group LLC filed permits for a new residential building that will replace the old laundromat located at 711 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, reported New York Yimby.

The building will provide affordable housing in the area.

Permits have not yet been filed, and there is no estimate yet of when the building will be completed.

The new eight-floor, 87- ft. tall building, will have 58 residences. Each one will be an average of 811 square feet.

It will also have a basement, a 40-foot-long backyard, and 21 enclosed parking spaces.

The building will be located near the Medgar Evers College subway station on Franklin Avenue. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden station is also nearby, and both of these stations are serviced by the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains, according to the StreetEasy listing.
