Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (DBP) announced that Alloy Development Principal and Co-Founder Jared Della Valle was unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Della Valle succeeds Jelena Kovačević, dean of NYU Tandon School of Engineering and Ofer Cohen, founder and chairman of TerraCRG, according to a news release.

“Downtown Brooklyn is the beating heart of the borough, and with the significant investments made by both the public and private sectors, is well positioned to build on its success," Della Valle said.

Della Valle has been a member of DBP’s board since 2016 and is an active, longstanding member of the community. He brings a wealth of experience in the design, construction and real estate sectors and a strong network of relationships across industries.

He has been a real estate professional and architect for more than 20 years and has managed the acquisition and pre-development of more than 2 million square feet in New York City along the High Line and in Hudson Yards, DUMBO and Downtown Brooklyn.

Della Valle also sits on the Board of the Architecture League of New York and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. He has previously taught at Columbia University, Syracuse University, Washington University, Parsons School of Constructed Environments and Lehigh University. He holds a B.A. from Lehigh University and Master’s degrees in both Architecture and Construction Management from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. He is a LEED Certified, licensed Architect in New York State, holds an NCARB (National College of Architectural Registration Boards) Certificate and is a licensed real estate broker and a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

“Jared and I have worked together on many endeavors, and he is a proven leader with an incredible passion for Brooklyn,” said Downtown Brooklyn Partnership President Regina Myer. “He joins us at an exciting and pivotal time as we look back on twenty years of growth since the 2004 rezoning and embark upon important initiatives focused on improving Downtown Brooklyn for businesses, residents and visitors."
