Brooklyn! Adopt a Dog, Get a $500 Veterinary Credit

Muddy Paws Rescue is teaming up with Bond Vet to spur more dog adoptions in the city.

Bond Vet is partnering with Muddy Paws Rescue, a foster-based organization that rescues dogs from shelters, to enhance pet adoptions in New York City.

Bond Vet is offering a $500 veterinary credit to anyone who adopts a pet through Muddy Paws Rescue, an initiative that aims to make essential care accessible to new pet owners, according to a press release.

Other services on offer include first-time exams, vaccinations and other essential care, ensuring newly adopted pets receive comprehensive medical attention as they transition into their new homes.

Bond Vet offers primary and urgent care services, including wellness exams, vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, dental cleanings, and travel health certificates.

Brooklyn locations include Bedford Stuyvesant, Clinton Hill, Cobble Hill, Ditmas Park, Park Slope and Williamsburg.

“Bond Vet was founded to strengthen the human-animal bond, and part of accomplishing this involves helping new pet owners find a vet for their new loved one,” said Renee McDougall, head of medicine at Bond Vet. “Bond Vet is the perfect home, able to provide routine wellness care, urgent care, surgeries, and dentals. I should know, I got my dog Rupert from Muddy Paws, and he's a Bond Vet frequent flyer!”

The organization said more than 70,000 pets enter shelters in New York City each year, overburdening the system and causing thousands of pets to stay in shelters longer, according to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals.

“Muddy Paws believes that adopting a dog should be accessible, but we also understand that the costs associated with bringing home a new pet can be prohibitive to many New Yorkers,” said Mallory Kerley, marketing director at Muddy Paws Rescue. “Being able to offer this benefit with Bond Vet can provide that bit of financial relief to those who have been on the fence about rescue!”
