BQ Flea, the Brooklyn Flea’s neighborhood market under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE), will kick off its 2025 season on Sunday, April 6, offering a vibrant marketplace for vintage collectors, local artisans and community vendors.

Operating every Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm through October, the market will have vendors selling second-hand treasures, handmade crafts and specialty food, according to a press release.

The market is located on Meeker Avenue between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street. Vendor applications for single or multiple-day sales are open, with booth spaces starting at $150 per day.

Uniquely designed to accommodate “carboot” sales, BQ Flea allows vendors to sell directly from their vehicles, making it easy to showcase larger items like furniture and lighting. The market also serves as a pilot program under the city Department of Transportation’s BQE Corridor Vision, reimagining urban spaces for public use.

“The BQ Flea is all about bringing the community together under the BQE—an iconic part of Brooklyn’s history,” said Gaston Becherano, chief executive officer and owner of BQ Flea. “This season, we’re excited to expand and bring in new vendors, artists and innovators with fresh ideas. It's a chance to transform an often-overlooked space into something exciting and accessible.”

DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez commended the initiative for uniting New Yorkers and creating a space that supports their small businesses.

“The BQ Flea is a one-of-a-kind experience helping to transform an underused public space into a bustling community market that brings neighbors together," he said. "We continue to develop innovative solutions to reconnect communities divided by the BQE and we hope New Yorkers and visitors alike will jump at the chance to browse the artwork, vintage goods and flavorful foods for sale."
