Police are searching for a person linked to a string of break-ins across New York City, including the latest one in Sheepshead Bay. Surveillance video from 1602 Avenue Z shows the individual smashing through the front door around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday March 15. The person, dressed in all black and wearing gloves, damaged three cash registers before fleeing. According to the NYPD, at least 13 similar burglaries have been reported across Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Manhattan. In some cases, thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise were stolen.
