Reduced Driving Lanes, Protected Bike Lanes Coming to McGuinness Boulevard Redesign

The DOT decided to move forward with the plan in response to negative feedback from the community on a previous proposal.

New York City will reduce the number of driving lanes and add protected bike lanes on a portion of McGuinness Boulevard in Brooklyn as part of a redesign plan to make the road safer. The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) announced Wednesday it will move forward with plans this fall to install parking-protected bicycle lanes on McGuinness Boulevard from Calyer Street to Meeker Avenue in Greenpoint. As part of the redesign plan, the portion of McGuinness Boulevard will include one driving lane in each direction.
