A fire tore through a NYCHA building in Brownsville on Wednesday night, injuring 13 people, including residents who had to be rescued from the upper floors.
According to the FDNY, the fire started around 7:07pm at 268 Osborn St., inside the Brownsville Houses. Flames spread across the fourth and fifth floors of the six-story building, sending thick smoke into the hallways. Firefighters responded quickly, deploying multiple ladders to reach those in danger.
