Hundreds Arrested, Fake License Plates Seized in Brooklyn Crackdown

Officials say the crackdown will continue.
The NYPD and multiple city agencies launched their 65th operation targeting drivers using fake, altered or stolen license plates to avoid tolls. Officers were stationed at key crossings, including the Hugh Carey Tunnel, Williamsburg Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge. The operation involved more than 100 officers and focused on spotting unregistered vehicles and fraudulent plates, including temporary paper tags.
