Seven firefighters were injured while battling a four-alarm fire that impacted multiple buildings in Bensonhurst on Tuesday afternoon, according to the fire department. Fire officials say that the fire started just after 1pm at 2050 71st St. between 20th and 21st Avenues. The fire started on the first floor and made its way to the second floor. It was raised to a four-alarm fire just before 3pm The FDNY said that seven firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the flames.
