Police say a 73-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a car as she crossed the street Sunday evening in Midwood. Police say the woman was in the intersection of East 12th Street and Avenue L when a Jeep Grand Cherokee turned left into the intersection and struck her. Traffic was cut off in all four directions of the intersection as police were on scene. A News 12 crew observed officers taking photos of a Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle that was parked nearby, as well as shopping bags that were left in the intersection.
