Construction Company Owner Jailed for 2019 Death of Brooklyn Girl in Wall Collapse

The Brooklyn district attorney announced that Nadeem Anwar was sentenced to six months in jail and five years of probation.

A construction company owner convicted of criminally negligent homicide in the death of a Brooklyn girl has been sentenced to six months in jail and five years of probation. Authorities say 5-year-old Alysson Pinto-Chaumana was outside of 444 Harman St. with her mother when a wall collapsed and crushed her skull on Aug. 30, 2019. City Wide Construction & Renovations Inc. was handling construction at the building, according to authorities. An investigation found that the owner, Nadeem Anwar, had committed numerous violations.
