Brooklyn Math Teacher Accused of Soliciting Explicit Photos From Teenagers

Winston Nguyen, who worked at Saint Anne's School, targeted the teenagers via Snapchat.

A Brooklyn math teacher is facing a slew of criminal charges for soliciting sexual images from teenagers.

The office of the Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said Winston Nguyen, 37, is a former teacher at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn Heights, according to a news release.

He allegedly used a fake name to target teenagers via messaging app Snapchat between October 2022 and May 2024. The victims-- five girls and a boy are pupils from four Brooklyn schools, including Saint Ann’s School, Poly Prep Country Day School and Berkeley Carroll School.

Nguyen targeted one of the victims from when they were 14 by sending them video messages depicting, among others, a nude boy masturbating in exchange for the teenager's images performing sexual acts.

The DA's office said Nguyen was arraigned in the Brooklyn Criminal Court on Thursday with charges of use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting a sexual performance by a child, first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors, third-degree conspiracy, third-degree criminal solicitation and endangering the welfare of a child.

The court granted him bail of $30,000 cash or $75,000 bond and ordered him to appear on October 17, 2024.

"The fact that he was a teacher and a trusted figure among students makes these allegations even more troubling. We will now seek to hold him accountable and will continue to work diligently to protect children from sexual exploitation,” Gonzalez said.
