Body Wearing Life Preserver, Prosthetic Leg Washes Ashore at Brooklyn Ferry Terminal

Police have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of family.
Police say a body washed ashore at the Brooklyn ferry terminal this morning in Dumbo. They received a call about a man’s body floating in the water around 6:45 a.m. The body was taken out of the water and lifesaving measures were performed. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Witnesses say the body had a life preserver on upon discovery. Police sources told News 12 that the body also had a prosthetic leg.
