The New York City Police Department is asking for public assistance in locating a missing 84-year-old woman in Brooklyn. Mercedes Vera was last seen around 9 a.m. on Saturday at 372 Blake Avenue, police say. Vera is described as a Hispanic woman, approximately 4’8” and 105 pounds with white hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red and brown sweater and black Puma sneakers, police say. Vera suffers from dementia and bipolar disorder and may require medical attention, officials say.
